At Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc. (“PES”), we are strongly committed to protecting your privacy. This document sets forth the Privacy Policy for Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc. (“PES”) and is applicable to Personal Information that is processed by PES on the PES website, mobile applications, and other online offerings (together with any and all future online offerings) operated by or on behalf of PES. By utilizing our services, visiting this website or corresponding with us electronically, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide PES.

Collection of Personal Information

Many parts of the Handtevy site can be viewed without providing personal information, however, for access to the Handtevy platform and/or Handtevy Instructor Portal you are required to submit personally identifiable information. “Personal Information” is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.  This may include but is not limited to your name, email address, a unique username and password, or to provide sensitive information in the recovery of your lost password.

What We Do with Your Information              

Subject to applicable legal restrictions, we acquire, hold, use, and process Personal Information outlined in this Policy or as otherwise clearly identified at point of collection, to (a) provide product or service information (b) gather customer service information (c) for marketing and/or research (d) to create anonymous and/or aggregated information, etc. 

Anonymized or aggregated information is not Personal Information, and we may use such information in a number of ways, including research, internal analysis, analytics, and any other legally permissible purposes. We may share this information within PES and with third parties for our or their purposes in an anonymized or aggregated form that is designed to prevent anyone from identifying you.

PES may also use or disclose account information if or when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating PES Terms of Service or intellectual property rights. The same policy applies in cases where we believe an individual may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) PES rights or property, other users of a site or service, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. PES may disclose or access account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service, and improve our products and services.

Information about Cookies and Web Beacons

In order to provide better service for our site, we may use Cookies and Web Beacons to measure site activity and to customize information. “Cookies” are tiny pieces of information stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Sharing of your personal information with Third Parties

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or as specifically agreed to by you, we will not otherwise sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we reserve the right to transfer your personal information to a third party in the event of a transfer or sale of all or substantially all of our assets.

We may hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to handling customer support inquiries, or other technical expertise. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service. PES takes reasonable steps to ensure that these organizations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.

Security of your personal and provided information

PES will take all reasonable steps to store your information in a secure manner, and to avoid risks such as inadvertent disclosure or unauthorized access. PES’s systems use multi-layered security, including physical security, firewalls, encryption, and full user audit-logging. PES will only store data in Amazon Web Services (AWS) facilities which have been audited to meet appropriate security standards, such as ISO 27001, SOC 1, PCI DSS, and HIPAA (https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/programs/). PES will endeavor to monitor and implement new security measures where appropriate.

Third Party Websites 

Our site may include links to the websites of our business partners, vendors, etc. To the extent that you disclose your information to other parties, you are subject to the privacy customs and policies of that third party. We are unsure whether these third parties have privacy policies similar to ours, and therefore, PES cannot be responsible for the content or the privacy practices employed by any third party. Please review the privacy policies of these third parties.

Rights of access, rectification, and erasure

You have the right to access, request, amend, and delete your Personal Information, subject to exceptions permitted by law.  All requests must be submitted in writing to privacy@handtevy.com. With respect to our use of general information, you are not able to opt out of the uses set forth in this policy. Keeping Children Safe

Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will not knowingly collect any information from, or sell to, children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian who has discovered that your child under the age of 13 has submitted his or her personally identifiable information without your permission or consent, we will remove the information from our active list, at your request. To request the removal of your child’s information, please email us at privacy@handtevy.com.

Data retention

The information you provide to us may be archived or stored periodically by us according to backup processes and will only be retained for as long as is required for the purposes for which it was collected, provide our products and services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.

Effective Date and Changes

PES reserves the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time and in our sole discretion, without notice.
